FORA ONE : launches at Book Arts Fayre

FORUM's first ever group publication will be officially launched and available to buy at Ffotogallery's Book Arts Fayre this SATURDAY 17th APRIL 2010

FORA ONE, a limited edition of 50 hand-made publications, presents a collection of artworks by 14 members of Ffotogallery’s FORUM artist group.

Sealed within each envelope lies a visual introduction to each artist and their varied practices, including spoken word, interactive and print-based responses.

We were very pleased to have had the wonderful support and expertise of The Printhaus in the production of the screen-printed covers. Special thanks go out to Jude Lau and Lauren Jury.

MNEMONIC : VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Memory 001: David Boulogne

Mnemonic - THE ULTIMATE DIY VIDEO PROJECT

My name is Jorge Lizalde, I am at Uwic MFA and work with photography and moving images.

I want to recruit you to help me develop my current project Mnemonic!

Mnemonic is a collaborative video blog that aims to recreate the participants' first memory using online video and image data (http://www.mnemonic.org.uk)

So far, it has been living and growing on the web but my collaborator and I are currently devising a real life application for the Forest Fringe Microfestival (http://www.forestfringe.co.uk ) happening in Swansea on 23rd/24th April.

We need co-authors to help us making videos for the project through out the year but particularly from 23rd to 27th April where there might be a surge of memories demands!

Would you be interested in becoming one of the co-authors?

There is no fee but I am organizing a couple of workshops where we'll explain the project, share how we work with web data and Adobe After Effects and discuss how and when you would be able to help.

So if you are interested in DIY video making and collaborative project please contact me on memorylandscape@googlemail.com or mobile phone 07894 669 668

This short film was brought up in conversation during the recent discussion between Peter Fraser and Mark Durden on the 24th of March at Ffotogallery in Penarth. As it is an important reference to Peter's work, we have included some links to various media and follow up information.

Clash of the Titans

An amazing selection of over 30 photographic book works and prints up for grabs on Thursday!

More info about this auction set up by final year students from Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport can be found on the link below...

It will be hosted at Cardiff Arts Institute, near the National Museum - but sadly clashes with our March FORUM.

Those of you who were coming to FORUM - do not desert us! Kath's highly anticipated Lasting Colour performance will be taking place and we'll be going over all the print project plans!
